The West Cadillac Project, located near the center of the exceptionally well mineralized Archean age Abitibi Greenstone Belt, is situated west of Noranda, Quebec. It lies within the Noranda volcanic complex, bounded to the north by the Porcupine-Destor Fault and by the Cadillac-Larder Lake Fault on the south. The structure is dotted by both major and secondary gold and base metal mines over its entire length of 250 km, many of them exceptionally long-lived. Combined historic gold production and published reserves along the Break amount to 80 million ounces. (See Location Map)
The Company's primary target consists of a 24 km long section of the Cadillac Break that had not been effectively tested until Cadillac Mining began drilling in 2005. The project has the potential for gold deposits ranging in magnitude to the multi-million ounce level. In addition, VMS-style base metal mineralization, while not the Company's prime focus, remains a realistic objective because of proximity to the Noranda mining camp.
Cadillac Mining Corporation's claim holdings offer numerous advantages and opportunity:
- Located In the Abitibi geological province, one of the most prolific greenstone belts in the world
- Main targets are analogues of multi-million ounce deposits as seen along the 'Break' in the Malartic, Val d'Or and Kirkland Lake gold camps
- Located between the Noranda volcanic complex, host to numerous outstanding VMS and gold deposits with an aggregate production of 18 million oz gold, and the 11 million oz Kerr Addison Mine
- Regional-scale exposure to a highly prospective area with only minimal previous exploration and approximately 10,800 hectares of 100%-owned mineral claims, covering 24 km of the Cadillac-Larder Lake Deformation Zone
- Potential for gold and base metal VMS discoveries.
- Mining-friendly jurisdiction with favourable fiscal policies and generous refundable tax credits.
- Excellent location and infrastructure, near the 'Mining Capital' of Rouyn-Noranda
